Almost every junk removal company in the metro prices by volume, meaning how much of the truck your stuff fills. You will hear "quarter load", "half load", "full load". That part is standard and it is fair enough.

What nobody tells you is that how the truck gets loaded changes what you pay. Throw everything in loose and a pile that should take up a third of a truck takes up half. You are paying for the air between the furniture.
